Hunter Valley Wedding photography, Blackhill, NSW – Kieren & Stacey

Saturday I travelled to the picturesque Hunter Valley to the suburb of Black Hill for Kieren (KK) & Stacey’s wedding at KK’s brother, Storm and Nat, my twin sisters lovely home.

Stacey decided to match the environment with Native flowers. With a photographers creative touch, I designed my first wedding bouquet and button holes for the family…A bit different to a regular day in the life of a photographer! After some much needed rain overnight, the clouds disappeared to reveal a glorious sunny day.

KK and Stacey wanted their ceremony to be followed by a relaxed cocktail reception, all at the one location. Nat & Storm’s home is on a few acres, overlooking a gorgeous dam with a great spot for a marquee and fit the bill perfectly. Local friends helped out with photo locations, making the day silky smooth.

The bridal party were such a big help to KK & Stacey and made the photo shoot hilarious & memorable. Thanks guys so much! It was so much FUN!

A highlight of the day was Stacey’s son Ethan entertaining the crowd with an impromptu rendition of “Happy” picking up the microphone while Stacey and KK were signing the register. Ethan sang while the guests clapped, totally impromptu, totally adorable.

KK & Stacey also wanted lots of photos of their guests having a great time. Being a twin of one of the bridesmaids meant I was there to capture all the night time celebrations. KK & Stacey hired an amazing band called Kings Road who played a lot of hits from the 90’s & 2000’s. Yes, these guys were AWESOME! With the weather dropping in temperature the guests need no further encouragement to dance all night.

Thanks KK & Stacey and their families for such an amazing night.

Tamworth Power House Wedding -Natasha & Justin

Natasha & Justin chose The Powerhouse for their wedding. They knew they wanted an outdoor ceremony that was stunning but had a relaxed feel. So when they found the back garden at the Power House they knew it was for them.

To go with their relaxed style of wedding they chose Vanessa   as their celebrant. For those looking for a fun, super relaxed celebrant Vanessa is your girl. She was simply amazing. She spoke well but involved the couple.

Natasha’s sister/matron of honour  was Katie from Love Story Photography. Katie is a good friend of mine, we have shot together a few times &  is also an amazing photographer. She helped Natasha plan her day knowing all the services & contacts in Tamworth to help plan your wedding.

When the girls walked down the isle at The Power House they did it so perfectly. Just walking down normally, saying hello to all their friends & family. Just looked so natural!!

I just loved this idea so relaxed & so friendly…definitely so stiff isle walk here.

Justin & Tash had three wedding cars that they wanted featured in a lot of their photos for the day. Justin’s good friend  drove his Chevrolet all the way down from Toowoomba. Tash also wanted her grandmothers two cars as well in the photos. They looked so awesome!!

We chose two locations close to the powerhouse for photos. The sun was replaced by clouds by the time we finished family photos…but we did miss the big storm that hit just after the reception started.

Thank you Tash & Justin for such a wonderful day.

Cheers Karissa xx

Ellie & Ben’s Peterson’s Winery Wedding

Back in March this year I photographed Elli & Ben’s wedding at the ever stunning, ever popular Petersons Winery. I just adore this location. old heritage building, vintage furniture, stunning gardens & endless locations for photography.

Elli & Ben are from my home town of Wee Waa so it was so lovely to see a few familiar faces amongst their guests.

Elli & Ben were such a relaxed, fun, lovely couple, you could tell they got these qualities from their amazing family, whom they were very close too.

I loved how all the boys went to the barber for a shave, just makes fabulous photos. Elli & her girls & her mum got ready at Peterson’s, so perfect so easy. with the vintage interior, gorgeous lighting it also made stunning pictures as always.

It was such a perfect day. Thanks guys for asking me to be apart of it.

Cheers Karissa

Thary & Ra- Phnom Penh Wedding Photography

So this is my first official Traditional Cambodian Wedding, with all is colors & glory. I just loved the differences compared to a western wedding. It definitely kept me on my toes & had me thinking alot throughout the day.

It also answered many questions such as why most Asian weddings do their wedding photos before the big day. We didn’t which I think made it more special but we did have to fit into our tight schedule, 5 outfit changes. The color & bling with all those outfit changes was amazing! I just loved it! But with the outfit changes for the bride & groom, the parents changed sometimes as well & oh complete make-up & hair changes for every outfit…yes WOW!! Thary & Ra definitely were so busy for their big day!

This was such a beautiful day with all of Thary & Ra’s closets family friends. I just adored everyone. They were all so friendly & happy to help out so much!! Thary & Ra had so many close friends help out with the flowers, ring cushions, singing, music so everything went so perfectly!

On the way to the ceremony we noticed this beautiful field of sunflowers, we only had a few minutes on the way to back to the reception as we had another outfit change but knew we had to stop. I just think Thary & Ra look so amazing in that light.

This whole experience was amazing! Thary & Ra knew I wouldn’t be a traditional Cambodian wedding photographer  rather a relaxed photographer who wanted to capture them as a couple together, mixed in with a bit of their culture. So I am just so thrilled to show you just a few photos.

Thanks again Thary & Ra for being such great friends to Tucky & I. We love you to bits. Thanks for a fabulous day & letting us be apart of it. Have a great honeymoon!

Kayla & Alex— London Wedding Photography

Kayla & Alex were married in September in London. Yes I was lucky enough to be flown across the other side of the world to photograph this gorgeous, amazing, fabulous couples wedding.

Everything about this wedding was stunning & super fun. Kayla & Alex are the type of couple where their friends & family are everything & them having an amazing time at their wedding was so important.

Kayla & Alex chose the South Place Hotel in the heart of London for their amazing reception. A cocktail wedding with everyone mingling & chatting to each other.

This would have to be one of the best weddings I have been to.

From the signature cocktails, this amazing hotel, fabulous warm speeches,

to a champagne tower instead of a cake- what a fabulous idea!! & delicious food that didn’t stop coming.

This was certainly an amazing wedding to be apart of & to photograph.

London traffic was a nightmare so our shooting time was cut from 1.5 hours to just 20 minutes. I think you cant tell. This couple loved every minute as well as their bridal party!!

Yes if all London/British weddings are like this…IM SOLD.

Thanks again Kayla & Alex…you guys truly are the best!!

James & Emma’s Wedding|Tangarratta Vineyard |Tamworth Wedding Photography

Ceremony

Last weekend was James & Emma’s turn to “say I do”. They chose a simple, elegant, personal   location for their wedding ceremony at James’s family home. James & Emma, their families & Tamworth wedding angels put so much work into having it look amazing!

A few days before the wedding the weather forecast wasn’t looking great. 90% chance of 20-40 mm. But on the day the weather was so perfect for photos, overcast with the sun coming out a little in the afternoon. So beautiful with our photo locations of The Post Office hotel & Tangarratta.

Emma & James wanted one of their locations to be at a sentimental place. The post office Hotel was that. James is a lead singer in a band & they have spent a lot of time there together & hanging out with good friends in the past.

Tangarratta as usual was stunning. Just gorgeous sunlight & landscape views. This is where James & Emma had their reception. Tangarratta is a favourite Tamworth location of mine because of this. But also their food is fantastic-by Coreys catering. James & Emma had a vegan buffet & carved roast for those die- hard carnivores. Yes James & Emma’s big-day was simply perfect!

Thanks guys for choosing me as your photographer
